these are their first eggs, not sure how long they have been there, there where 7 eggs in one little nest. We have 7 heans that are becoming of age, so we are not even sure if it is only one if them or several of them laying.

My main question is how long can they be without refridgeration before they have either developed too far or been out too long?

We did eat one, cracked it and it looked fine smelled fine so we ate it. I did notice that there was a spot on the top of the yolk, was that the fertilized embryo?

If the egg looks OK and smells OK, it is OK to eat. My aunt always broke eggs into a saucer to check for quality before she used them. She did this long after she no longer had chickens and was using store bought eggs.

I've always done this, and still do, after working where I made 1000+ eggs in a morning, it was more common then you'd expect. Sure was a pain when I'd ruin a whole bunch of orders cause of one egg.
