    Hi

My family just purchased 9 new chicks to start our own egg production. We got them home today. We have them in 2 tubs and in an unused bedroom in the house for time being. We are worried that we are getting them either too hot or too cold we had 2 heat lamps on them but that seemed way too much so we stuck one light between the tubs. We have it elevated above them about 2 to 3 ft is this still too close or not far enough and is it a good idea to keep them in the room cause it does not vent heat well?

put a thermometer under the light on the floor of your brooder so you know how warm it is there.
