Just got a bio-security questionair in the mail

Wow, yeah I wouldn't fill it out. Think of your business, and who you sell to also. Would they buy from you again if something detrimental came from this? Or would they want you to give out their names and addresses. It seems like you didn't have to worry so much in the past, but you never know where stuff goes, who sees it and what they do with it. I think it is best to stay off the radar. Just my opinion:confused:

That's what I;m wondering, how'd they pick you out. Send it back and tell them "I'm sorry, somehow you have received information that is not correct my birds are for pets only".

I would really like to know how that student got your info and the info of some other CO chicken people.

I wouldn't comply either. That type of info has a way of coming back to haunt you.

Well Cara, I thought they got my name from the Extention service, I volunteer there and wrote an article on chickens for the newsletter.

They ask things like do wild geese and duck come in your yard, how far from a lake, pond or stream are you. Shoot, I live next door to Golden Ponds park and all the canadian geese migrate through here and stop in my yard. And no I don't change my clothes before and after I visit my chickens. I live on a little farm, I can't go outside without stepping in chicken poo. Gee.

They said if I don't send it back they'll send a check up letter in 3 weeks followed by a phone call. It's totally optional and no names are attached, but frankly I just don't know the answers to most of the questions and I don't want them to know how involved I am in the chicken movement around the state. So I'm not going to say anything.

I think they are having a hard time getting people to reply since orginally, they were supposed do the interview in person according to their paperwork. I sure those who do respond will be those who are good about bio security

Sounds like they're getting a little too deep in the personal (none of their business) info dept. I might even send it back with that on it. Tell them this is personal info and it's none of their business and you want you name and address off of whatever list they've got. And to not contact you again.
