Just got eggs!! Then.. Nothing.

We're using hay right now. We bought the nesting boxes from tractor supply, they're pretty deep.

The open wooden ones or the big enclosed plastic ones?

Might just add more hay, mine will scratch down to bottom, but eggs hit straw piled up behind and don't break.

Yep it's the open wooden ones. I didn't see any other kind when there. We piled a good bit of hay in there but she's pretty good at rearranging her box haha! She scratches it right down to the wood!

Yeah, they do that...front could be higher and mount it to a solid wall so bedding can't go out the back.

My hens STILL do that!! When they lay in the nest, that is. They seem to prefer under the BBQ at the moment!!
