Just got my baby chicks and need some help.

I'm a newbie, but Cackle, where I ordered my chicks, includes a "First Day" checklist. It reccomends 98-100 degrees at the floor directly under the heat lamp. It also says that it's a good idea to keep the water warm (about 98 degrees). If you give them cold water immediately after their trip, it can seriously lower their body temperature and cause them to go into shock and die. Key seems to be keeping them warm, and as someone said on here, as they get bigger (weekly) lower the temp a little at a time, until they can maintain their own body temp.
