The only health problem I've had with any of them was a broken blood feather on the wing of one of the Stanbridge White girls a few days ago (no big deal, but it scared me half to death - man, can those things bleed!). Other than that, they're positively vibrant!

Mine are doing pretty well too. Unfortunately, though, I've lost more than I would have expected. One died very young--she was weak and just never thrived and eventually just passed on. Another died thanks to a bad batch of feed. And a third died recently of unknown cause--I noticed her sitting apart from the others one day, breathing hard and not wanting to move much. A few hours later, I found her dead in the corner of the pen.

That's three out of sixteen babies. Very strange. I know the one was totally my fault, but the others... I don't know.

The remaining ducks are doing fine. I can't sex them, though. They quack and rasp constantly, but I can't tell which is doing what, and when I pick them up they stubbornly shut their mouths and won't talk.

I can't sex my Stanbridge Whites by voice until I pick them up! The girls only quack when they're super excited (like when I come bearing treats), or super annoyed (like when I scoop them out of the grass and hold them up in the air).

The Hookbill girls are quacking almost all the time now though - I think they're faster-maturing. Smaller, but faster to mature.

Holderreads also sent me an extra Hook Bill with the 6 I ordered. I asked for all dark bibbed HBs if possible, and that's what they sent.

Also got 3 F&W runners and 6 Saxony.

I got an extra F&W runner with the six that I ordered and then my orders for WH's and sebastopols. No stanbridge white though

....its alright, I'm very happy with what I got!

I have been checking my email all morning. This is the week I should be getting my runners, with next week and the week of the 4th as alternate weeks. I am crossing my fingers for this week. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! And it is youngest DD's birthday this week, so it would be nice to get them this week.

I got my e-mail during my last alternate week. I got it on Monday night, but I hear of a lot of people getting them on Tuesday afternoon also.
