Just got my first duck!!! Help with age and breed.

Ok so I needed chicken feed and came home with this little guy. I am wondering what breed and age. Picture is with my BR chick that is about 2 weeks old. I plan on letting the duck live with the chickens. Just wondering if I need anything special for the little one. The chick and duck seem to be getting along ok and I am watching them closely. Thanks.

That would be a blue swedish and by the looks, i'd say one week old or less..

I say blue swedish. Just make sure that you aren't feeding them medicated feed!!

I fed mine medicated after researching on here for a while-the medicated food Used to be loaded with the medication to prevent Cocci-it is very small quantities now and are not harmful to the duckling-

I never knew that it was now safe to feed the medicated feed to ducklings. For years we always fed all chicks/ducklings the same thing because we were taught not to feed medicated to ducklings, else they would die. Thanks for the clarification!

oh good...i was scared there for a little bit...thought i was harming my duckies...they didnt seem to be fairing badly...i luv watching them pickup food and dunk it in the waterer...except it gets all muddy looking very quickly...oh well...they r having fun
