just got some 4 month old turkeys HELP PLEASE

Hi ---I just bought 5, 16 week old turkeys...I've never had turkeys before, how long do I keep them in the coop before letting them out to free range? We live on a farm, their coop & large free range area is private. Thanks

Are they meatie turkeys (bbw's) or heritage breeds? If they're BBW's, you could let them out now...they won't go far. If they are a heritage breed, I would keep them penned up for about a week just to make sure that they know where home is.

Yeah, not far from Warsaw...those are BBW's but still pretty young....give them a few days in the pen to know where they belong
