Just had a MAJOR fail. Feeling sad. Need some advice.

Glad you got most of your guineas back :) praying for final two, but even if they don't come back I'd say your round-up was a success!

Thanks! I'm feeling grateful. Will keep working with them and hope most of them get the program. I was able to herd 2 groups into the coop today using food and herding sticks. Progress! Will probably try some supervised free ranging and start the circus again tomorrow!
 
Well the guineas all spent the night outside again last night. They were right near their coop though. Just couldn't actually get them in. I am definitely going to build a funnel fence and a ramp into the coop. And add a light. Today they have been ranging around my acreage eating bugs and returning to their coop area every once in a while. NICE! Still not going back in the coop at all. I have their water and food in there though, so I am hoping they will choose to return on their own at some point. Hopefully before night time tonight. If not I will continue working on my "herd while giving treats" technique. My wife is fed up but I honestly am loving their antics. I feel like progress is being made and am enjoying working with them. ESPECIALLY today because they are finally acting like guineas! I will keep updating in this thread because the title now makes me smile. I thought all was lost! lol Just another step on the road of Guinea keeping!

ALL THE GUINEAS ARE IN THE COOP!1!11!!!:weeI went out nice and early(6:15) and tossed food for a while. Sung them my little "cuckoo bird" song. They slowly grew accustomed to my presence. Then I shook and emptied the rest of the feed pail into their feeder in the coop. 5/7 allowed me to herd them in right away. The other two got confused and bolted but didn't go far. I gave them a half hour to chill and approached again with some food. It took a couple circles around the coop but they figured it out!! I'm feeling very happy. Thanks everyone who stopped in to take this journey with me. Today was a very good day in Guinea land for ol' Tre3hugger.
