My chickens free range, so she has had them out foraging since their second week. It is so fun to watch them all follow her or watch her scritch the ground for them. The best is when they imitate her when dust bathing. Anyhow, they will take frequent breaks and I'll see her sitting out all puffed up and know that they are all concealed somewhere in her feathers. Then, either she will get up and walk off with their legs hanging down or one or two will run out from under her, then they all will. Believe me, its hours of endless entertainment. If only I didn't have to work......
