Just hatched some turkeys! What do I need to do now?

I have hatched baby chicks before but this is my first time hatching turkeys. I have heard that they have trouble learning to eat and drink so I bought two red rangers to go with them and put some shiney dimes in their water dish. But, they still aren't drinking on their own. I have tried dipping their breaks in water too and they will drink a bit but not on their own. They all hatched yesterday. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hmmm, we hatched a dozen last year so I'll have to think back a bit. I do remember reading that so we used foil under their feed and dimes in the water as well. I don't remember there being a major concern about them not drinking. I think we dipped each beak in the water and let mother nature do the rest. Out of 12 babies, only one didn't make it so IMO I think you're doing fine.

There is a turkey board on here that you might want to check out, too. Not as active but you may find more info.

The first couple of days on any bird the feed is in them so it will be slow going and the correct temps and a safe brooder are the most important things ....
