Just how rare are Dark Rhode Island Red Rosecombs?

Wondering just exactly how rare Dark RIR Rosecombs are?

And if you found that you had stumbled across one or two of them..... would you jump on it and take them home?

Also.........can the Rosecomb be bred back to a Dark RIR with a single comb to produce more Rosecombed offspring?

There are a few breeders of RC R.I. Reds out there so they are not impossible to find them.

You can breed a RC-R.I. Red to a S.C.-Red and get all Rose Comb offspring the first year IF the Rose Comb parent is pure for comb type, If that parent is not pure for comb type then you will get a percentage of both Rose and Single Comb offspring.
The biggest problem you will find with crossing the two comb types in Reds is that if not careful you can kill comb type in the Rose Combs.
