I DID read it. But numerous times I have seen where people have been told "6 months and/or 250 posts." And no one says "Oh no, that's 6 months AND 250 posts." Quite frankly I think it's ridiculous and I know I am speaking for a lot of people who would like to bid here. Yes, I understand that's how it was originally set up by the thread starter. Perhaps it could be amended slightly to avoid the frustration. And yes, I know I can bid on the crazy 24 hour auction thread. I have and will continue to do so. But there is a lot of stuff posted here that's not posted there. This post is NOT aimed at any one in particular, I'm just voicing frustration. Ok, down off the soap box now.

When I asked about this a couple months ago, Donna said that requirement was either a member for 6 months and/or 250 posts...

I already stated I read it. My question was why some people are being told differently, and potentially being allowed to bid (I.E. 6 months and/or 250 posts). I am ALL FOR people being able to bid at 6 months and/OR 250 posts. YES I am aware that is not how it's stated in the original post. I would like it cleared up as to why some are being told differently. AND if it's possible for the thread starter to amend it to the 6 months and/or 250 posts, like some people are being told anyway.

It is not a matter of some people being told something different in my eyes. It is a matter of the person that started this thread and that person making up the rules. If we want to post on this thread, then I think we should follow the rules of this thread. I totally agree with you, that 6 months or 250 posts should suffice, but I didn't start this thread. I am like you and don't want to just post when I don't have something to really say. You and I could easily post to so many threads " nice post or nice pictures", so we could reach 250 posts, but that is not me and evidently not you. Just a thought, start another thread with rules of say 3 months and 100 posts, or whatever rules you want to make. I would follow a thread like that and I bet a lot of others would also. Maybe like you suggested the originator of this thread might want to reconsider the requirement for joining in here. It would seem some lowering of requirements wouldn't harm security for sellers and buyers, but that is my opinion. Thanks, Kern

I think the original idea behind the post and time limits for bidding and selling was to ensure that the ones bidding and selling were members of the community that could be trusted and were known. That way we knew who we were buying from and who was bidding, and sellers were comfortable selling and buyers more comfortable buying. That's why the requirement seems so high - it's to make sure the person is an active member of the community, or has been around awhile.
