@Ginzu - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your flock, especially such great buddies like the one you posted about. I always agree with getting yourself a game camera as mentioned (we have a Wildgame Innovations brand I like alot). I personally vouch for the trap and dispatch of predators that pose problems to flocks. Depending on your location and situation, you may be facing a variety of predators so definitely consider a game camera to know what you're facing and how to go about it. We had a weasel remove the heads and leave the birds as you described; look up plans of how to construct a "weasel box"

For now, just give the remaining flock members some time and yummy treats and lots of attention so things are less stressful for them.
