eKo, I see that you're living at 8000' - did you ever have any problems with raising birds at high elevation? Just curious here, too...
i don't surprisingly... i thought i would when i moved up here but so far everything seems good to go. if there is one thing that i have noticed - and this is all speculation - birds (and "things" in general, like veg crops) seem to take longer to mature or reach weight. with my pullets it always seems they lay a month later than they are "supposed" to and from what other people have said here at BYC. with the meat birds it seems like you can pretty much tack on around 2 extra weeks (be it colored ranger or cornish x). i raise my birds without confinement, so, like i said... this is all speculation. as far as any health issues or problems adapting to the "thinner air", i have had none. thank goodness!
