Update on chicks, almost 2 weeks old. Still only have had one loss and that was due to me. (Heat lamp fell on him). They are growing like weeds I would guess have doubled in size so far. They are very active, racing each other from one end of the brooder to the other. So far only one runt who is about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the others.
Sorry I don't have any weights or photos yet. I have been out sick and then on the road with my work. But here is my observations so far.
1. Very active, chase each other, flys or anything else in the brooder, scratch and act like chickens.
2. So far no leg problems
3. Love to eat grass hoppers we drop into them. (Chase each other around running off all thier weight trying to get it from each other)
4. They are all Roos and act just like little boys as my College age daughter pointed out. (They like to challenge each other and run around flapping thier wings)
5. Often will lay down by feeder to eat but definitly not coop potatoes.
6. Seem to be growing really well
Neg things Possible to some people:
1. Coloring, will be barred rock looking
2. Seem agressive to each other (Could be cause they are all Roos and act like chickens)
3. Some have some black on thier legs not 100% yellow
4. Seem to like to run, jump and flap wings allot.
