Any words of wisdom on this breed? I just want it for a pet and a weeder for my garden this year. Anyone with any experience to share?

Please share your thoughts and experiences!

Thanks,
Kimber

Congrats and lucky you. I don't get to even think about adding ducks and/or geese until at least next year.
While I am a newbie to all types of poultry, I do know that like alot of creatures they need a friend. Can you order another?

My biggest word of advice is get two. They really need that friend when they get older. My geese pairs are unseperable.

Duos and trios for ducks and geese. With that said, the one goose will surely win your heart over and it will be no time before your gaggle grows.

I think Tolouse are handsome creatures. I raise Embdens, Pilgrims and Roman Tufted.

I agree, you need at least 2 geese for them to be happy. They talk to each other all the time! Also, they love to graze, so if you can let them on fresh grass at least part of the time, that makes them even happier. During the spring when green grass is plentiful, they eat very little feed.
