I’ve been working with Dutch Hookbills over 5 years now. Does anyone raise them? I fell in love with them. When I first inquired the breed the “hook” was very poor quality. Over time with selective breeding I have finally got some birds that have a beautiful hook! Next years goals is selecting better body type and getting more blueish green egg layers. This year I hatched my first black bibbed hen. I only know of a couple breeders who have the color. I also have Dusky, Dusky bib, Aleutian, Golden Aleutian, and Golden Dusky. If you raise Hookbills please share so photos and your personal experience

I have five adult Hookbills and six month old ducklings. I started with them two and a half years ago. I love them. They are definitely my favorite breed. Yours are beautiful, btw! My hooks are getting better, but not as good as yours. This is probably my best. He is a year and a half old and is wild type or mallard with sex-linked brown. All of mine happen to have sex-linked brown. I have three wild type or mallard, one dusky, and one snowy.

These are my most recent ducklings. The drake above is the father of many of them. A couple have hope of nice bills but I fear I have five drakes and one hen. The two white ones were a nice surprise.

I look forward to seeing more pictures of your birds! If you ever want to sell any or eggs, I am near Memphis, so not too far.

Here’s a couple more pics of my flock. I sell juveniles late spring and I also have hatching eggs whenever my incubator can’t hold anymore eggs. I’m located in Springfield Mo
