@CCUK where did you get your pigeons? I've been looking for a good breed of small bird to raise after our unsuccessful quail hatching.

I've only had them just over a year. I found a stray and it decided to stay! So I bought a few more and then hatched a few and before you know it! Totally hooked

! There not that difficult to look after but they do need a different level of care than chickens or quail. The most difficult part is getting them to stay or settle. The easiest is to get a mated pair and raise the squabs and they will stay. There is always the risk of losing them to hawks but it all depends on what type you want. Alot of ornamental or fancy breeds don't need to fly as much as mine. All mine apart from one are belgian racers. Here is a good thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/pigeon-talk.1276029/
