Instead of getting two of the other things this could be their coop and i can get a friend of my mom's to expand the cage to make it a bigger run and attach it to this. What do you think?

Never mind it let me view it. I suggest putting wood over the open wire area to expand the henhouse area. The red arrows point to it.

Their nails are getting long but I'm scared to cut them because they keep squirming. Is there an easier way to make their nails shorter?

You could file them down. When chickens are outside their constant scratching wears down their nails.
