Nope, I don't have anything but a wincy bit of Baytril. I'm going to give her a shot of it again tonight, but its so hard because she puts up such a fuss! Hopefully her stuff will arrive tomorrow and I will just put it in all the girls water because there is no egg withdrawl and she isn't isolated so she could pass it on...Poor Ruby, hope she gets better soon. Do you have Oxine (AH) there? 1/8th teaspoon mixed with a gallon water put in a fine mister spray bottle sprayed 4 or 5 times above her head can do wonders.
I still have my very first ever hen left which is a rescue girl and she's 7!Aww thank you for rescuing ex-batts! I hope Ruby continues to improve![]()
I only have one rescue girl left nowI miss them a lot, such wonderful little things, but they seem to get so many problems and don't always live very long, as selfish as it sounds, I just needed to give my heart a break for a little while. Will definitely get some more in the future though!

4 is average for a ex batt, so its not bad! I think you should just get more because think even if they die, they die peacfully and happy and not having to go through the slaughter house. One of my ex batts was only free for 2 weeks before dying, but she got some freedom! She is actually the hen that is part of this thread, if you look back through then you will see her RIP post!Aww fantastic! I know a few people that have had them live to 6, sadly my eldest passed away recently, I think she would of been just over 4. Nancy, my remaining rescue has been free since Oct '11, but I can tell she's getting stiff in her legs now, bless her. Will have to keep a close eye on her now the weather's getting colder.
