Just set 23 eggs in bater

Same here, checking in. How did your candling go? I pulled one d'Uccle and one guinea out, and put them in a ziploc to break them... they were liquidized. 4 guineas made it to lockdown, and the d'Uccles go on lockdown next week. I'm eager to hear how you both are doing!

Well after I put the twenty three eggs in I added one of my own from My silkie lav mix and that was added to the incubater about one and a half days after the rest.
So I was up to 24 eggs.
I just candled today as things as have been crazy around here and the only one that looks like it will make it is my own egg that I put in plus four others .I checked the rest of the eggs by cracking them and all were liquidized.

I blame the kids for not leaving the thermometer alone..one day I saw it was up to 124 degrees!!! I have kept it around 99.5 for a while now and I check it daily and if the kids touch it

cattitude, I did not realize you had eggs hatching too. what a goof I am. lol.
So, far I have left all of mine. plan on doing a final candle tonight or tomorrow to see if I want to pull any. I am not doing one on day 18 this time. Just adding a little water and hoping for the best. will let you all know if I pull any out. good luck and am looking forward to pictures.

well, I threw out 2 eggs of the barnyard mix tonight. Lockdown is on Tuesday. I am thinking about putting some of the incubator eggs under a broody due to hatch on Thursday, and th incubator eggs are due to hatch on Friday. What do you all think? The broody only has 2 eggs, and I have 19 left in the incubator. I was thinking of giving her 4 of them. She is a standard size cuckoo marans, and has already hatched out 2 chicks earlier this spring. Found it strange that she went broody again. Ah well, she is a good little hen.

It wouldn't hurt to give her a couple of eggs, for sure! Have you candled her eggs? if hers don't look good, perhaps you can give her one or two. She'd be thrilled to have babies this quickly!

The broody had one hatched as of last night. Two in the incubator have hatched as of this morning. She has one more. should hatch... I candled them the other day and both looked good. I will try to give her some of the incubator chicks in a day or two. she is sitting nicely still.

oh, I am so sorry for you.

My hatch is coming along better than expected. I have 7 of the remaing 19 hatched so far. I sure hope one is a rooster just like my Chase that passed two weeks ago. I need a good roo. the young ones I have now are not doing the best job.
