Just set 72 eggs in LG for the first time. Anyone wanna hatch along?

Let me know how it does with the vent pugs in. Maybe the wafer thermostat thingy is loose?

Its doing just as I have described with the plugs in......How do I know if the wafer thermostat is lose and how do I fix it?

I would take it apart and put it back together again. Like when you put it together for the first time.

ETA: Im not sure how to diagnose that but try it and run it to see if that was the problem.

How did you fit that many eggs in your bator? Are you
hand turning? Did you have to stack the eggs?

wow 72 in a LG.

I'm in. I put over 50 eggs in my Little Giant still air no turner, incubator yesterday afternoon. What I read was not to do anything for 24 hours on the first day so I haven't but its hard not to mess with it. I bought it a year ago and started some shipped guinea eggs in it and some other eggs but switched the eggs last year over to a broody hen and the guinea eggs did not seem to be fertile so I have never really hatched out with it before. I've spent hours reading other posts about it but will try not to obsess over it too much. The eggs I put in it may not all hatch as some are porous and some are older, but I didn't buy them so they would just have been eaten or fed to the chickens otherwise. If the hatch goes well there should be a lot of silkies, some lavender d'Uccles and some bantam Dark Cornish.

Nope no stacking just perfect rows and the last row was put in horizontally. I was quite surprised as well. I love hand turning. It makes me feel like there is a bond.

Ive never heard to not touch them for 24 hours. Ive already turned mine once. I wonder if it ever makes a difference. Update as your hatch goes on and we can test it. D'uccles are so pretty. Never had them myself but I like to drool over other BYCers birdies. Ive had some Really porous eggs hatch so you never know.

i HAVE A hOVA-BATOR 2362n BOUGHT LAST YEAR AND NEVER USED SO WE FIRED IT UP AND IT KEPT PRETTY CONSTANT AT 99 ALL DAY YESTERDAY. I LOADED IT THIS MORNING WITH 40 EGGS, BUFF ORPINGTON, CINNAMON QUEENS, WELSUMMER, DORKING AND BARRED ROCKS. IT WILL BE A MOTLEY MIX BUT INTERESTING JUST THE SAME. WE HAVE A BUFF ROOSTER SO WE WILL GET PUREBRED BUFFS AND ALSO HAVE A LAKENVELDER ROOSTER. I THINK HALF THE FUN IS SEEING WHO IS THE DADDY AS THEY HATCH (IF THEY HATCH). I KNOW THE CINNAMON QUEENS ARE A HYBRID AND WON'T BREED TRUE BUT WILL BE FUN TO SEE WHAT COMES. SO FAR THE TEMP IS STAYING PRETTY TRUE - ONLY HAD TO ADJUST IT A LITTLE UPWARDS TODAY - BUT IT STARTED SNOWING HERE IN WESTERN NY (OH YUCK) SO ITS COOLER OUTSIDE TODAY. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM OTHERS WHO ARE HATCHING. HEY HOW DO I KEEP THAT DUMB THERMOMETER FROM FALLING OFF THE EGGS? CAN I TAPE IT UNDERNEAT ONE OF THE VIEW WINDOWS?

I'm setting 25 (+ whatever I get today) tonight. It'll be a mix of EEs and Silkies. I'm using a LG with a fan and turner.

I just set another dozen in a half.
