I started out with it on, when I did one of my walk byes I must have caught it in the cooling feature and freaked outLeviS, I used the cooling feature on 2 hatches so far and great hatch results. My eggs were not shipped though.
And my next hatch I will be trying it at 99.5 as it reads on the Brinsea. I did my last hatch at 100.5 because my other glass thermometer I bought from Brinsea, and made by Brinsea, was reading 2 degrees cooler than the one of my incubator. But my hatch was almost a day early, so a nice person on this thread suggested I should just use what the incubator says next time.
Good luck with your first hatch! I am so enjoying my 2 batches of chicks. Cannot wait until summer to do another hatch. I am trying to control myself a bit you see!
You are not supposed to begin the cooling feature until day 7 according to the studies done which can be read on the Brinsea website.I started out with it on, when I did one of my walk byes I must have caught it in the cooling feature and freaked outbecause I saw the temp and humidity way down!!!! So yea...that got turned off and everything went back to normal, don't think I can "handle" the cooling feature just yet lol.![]()
