Sounds like a fox attack. I know how you feel, Your description fits what I found after a fox visit. It's like they wait for you to leave, then strike. They will kill everything you have and carry them off. I'm installing an electrified poultry (Premier) fence this weekend, so HOPEFULLY they can be out when we are not home. Running electric out to the coop to power the fence, 4000 V, I hope it blows the eyes right out of that fox's head when he noses up to it.
