Just unpacked my brinsea 20 -help!!

So I plugged my brinsea in last night and left it til this morning to see if everything was good - the humidity didn't raise over 38%. Any thoughts? I ordered the humidity pump last night but there are no videos on that so I hope it comes with good instructions because I can't see where it connects to my brinsea 20 advance. Ugh!

Is it at 38% dry or with water in the wells? If so, how full are the wells? You could "dry hatch" at 38% humidity until lockdown, if desired.

Find the manual for the humidity pump here: https://www.brinsea.com/Manuals/AdvanceHumidityPumpUS.pdf.

I had water in one well like they say -about 2/3rds full. I was trying to follow the video directions and that wasn't working to bring up the humidity. I also shut the vent about 2/3 thinking that would help - but no. That's why I went ahead and ordered the pump. I could dry hatch but was worried that at lockdown I would have enough humidity then either. Will look up the manual on the pump so I can hopefully be ready to install it when it gets here. Just a tad nervous...

It's good that you're testing it before you put the eggs in - less room for error then.

With mine, I just keeping filling the wells until I reach the desired humidity, and add the wet sponges I mentioned to bump it up even further at lockdown. Depending on your conditions, filling one well two-thirds full may not be enough, so don't be afraid to experiment before those eggs arrive.

Once, without realizing it, I didn't have the top on completely - it should "click" shut. Both the temperature and humidity were affected. Doesn't sound like the cause of your low humidity, but wanted you to be aware that this could occur.

If you fill both wells with warm water at lockdown and hatch your humidity will be more than sufficient.

If you want more humidity use a sponge or what I've done is put a wash /hand towel in the bottom pushed into wells then filled with water. Just don't cover the holes in the corners.

Just to test it drain all the water out and put lid back on over night and check it again in morning to check on difference
