I don't care much for sweetened tea. I *love* Paradise Tropical for iced tea. It has sort of a naturally sweet taste to it.

That's how we do it, except for using 10 tea bags in our 2 gallon container. During the winter, we just put it in the refrigerator. Since we like different levels of sweetness, we add our own sugar by the glass.

I love, love, love tea, hot or cold. Like HarlansHollowFarms, if I drink it hot, I love it with cream and sweetner (can't digest sugar, so if all of the bad stuff they say about Splenda is true, I'm a dead woman!) unless it's Lady Grey, then just the Splenda, as for some reason the cream and citrus flavor doesn't work for me. Trader Joes has an amazing Irish Breakfast tea that is really good, and I like plain old Typhoo a whole lot as well.

In the winter I make tea in the coffee pot--I put 12 cups of water in the well, and put four bags in the pot, then send the water through. I let it steep for 4-5 minutes, and then pull the bags. It will sit there all day and be warm and yummy whenever I'm ready for a cup. Not that a 12 cup pot will last me all day mind you.

If it's hot out, I just take that pot, dump it over ice, and put it straight in the fridge. I do like to have jugs of sun tea sitting out in the summer as well.

I use the liquid splenda, so it mixes in super easy, and 10 drops sweetens the 12 cup pot very nicely--not quite as sweet as Southern sweet tea (which is a little too sweet for me) but definitely more than just a hint of sweetness.

I'm a little bit of a tea junkie, and have two entire shelves full--the top shelf is caffienated and the bottom shelf is herbal. Hubby rolls his eyes every time I bring home a new box of the stuff, as I can barely pack any more in, but that doesn't stop me from trying any new flavors I can find!

I'm so glad that tea is good for you, 'cause I would have a lot of trouble if I had to give up this habit.

We have an entire cabinet just for teas & coffee & cocoa. We drink hot tea (herbal or earl grey) in the cold months, and lots of iced tea & iced coffee in the summer. I can't stand sweet tea- it's a crime against tea!

Can I ask why not? If not, sorry to offend!

I agree with Gritsar, boiling tea makes it bitter, I make my tea the same way as Gritsar but I add a dash of salt or B.S. to smooth it out, and I disolve sugar with hot water in jug while tea is cooling.
I think I willl make some today while it's snowing like crazy, heck maybe even some Gumpgirl bread.

One word for ya: Stevia.
http://www.stevia.com/

I use Truvia, which is a brand name of sweetener made from stevia.

I won't touch splenda after I was sick for five days with GI problems after having some tea sweetened with it at my sister's house. I keep the truvia on hand for those rare occasions when I want a glass of sweet tea. DH thinks my unsweetened tea tastes like something that comes from a horse, I won't be more specific than that.
