I was just wondering what chicken breed is best to raise for egg laying? Thanks everyone

Is it better to have hens not needing a rooster? I've had roosterswith my old flock but that was a good 13 or so years ago so I feel like I'm starting out fresh again. I'm wanting to get white and brown laying but thinking of also adding east egg layers this time around as well.Depends on what you want. Leghorns notoriously lay the most eggs. Rhode island reds are great too. Lots of breeds will lay around 250-300 eggs per year. Ask your farm store or hatchery.
For beauty of eggs rather than quantity, my favorites are welsummers and ameraucanas (easter eggers).
