Juvenile Brideled tern. Help!!

Do you think it would be a good idea to give her a bath to try and eliminate some of the insects?

I don't honestly know. My gut is to say it would be better to pick them off rather than actually giving the bird a bath. If you're extremely careful about water temperature and making sure she's in a warm, dry, still place so that she doesn't get chilled, it might be okay to do.

Like i said, there was one but it had to shut down a few years ago due to a lack of funds. There is still some evidence of it online but it is no longer open

I'm assuming this is the one you're referring to, but they have posts from about two weeks ago about a bird they're rehabbing?

Some of these groups might help or at least point you in the right direction:

EDIT: From the above link:

If you find an injured wild animal you can take it to Island Veterinary Services who will nurse it back to health. They appreciate donations for this service (which they offer for free). They can be contacted on (345) 949 0787. They don’t however, have enough staff for pick-ups.

I did some research and seabirds can get ticks and parasites but they can also get internal parasites. One is actually called Haemoproteus and it’s in the blood and can be carried by even domestic birds like quail and turkeys. There is little known about any cures and it makes the bird lathergic and depressed. There are a number of things that could be wrong with the poor thing.

Hello everyone,
First of all i would like to apologize. I know this website isnt about wild birds in any way but i figured all of you bird loving people could definitely help me.

I found this gorgeous bridled tern two days ago. She looks to be a few months old. She was in the sea, and she swam towards me when i tried to pick her up. She was extremely thin and weak, with a poor balance... but didn’t seem to have any obvious injuries. She could move each wing, her feet, ect. (With a bit of difficulty obviously, as she was weak but nothing suggested pain or injury)
I am keeping her in a protected area where it’s warm, but with free flowing air. She’s staying in a cardboard box with chicken nesting material (softer than straw, a bit like the texture of hay), with a lid + towel on top to make it completely dark.

i gave her water, sugary water, fish (swai) and some crushed shrimp, but she is still getting worse. She was eating quite well by herself but now it’s hard to get her to open her beak at all. I force fed her a little bit. I know it’s not supposed to be done, especially on a bird like this, but she needed to get something in her stomach.
Now, she’s so weak she can’t even stand on her feet. I don’t know what to do anymore. What could cause something like that? She should get better, with the food and the rest. Am i doing something wrong?

i don't mean to be rude but take her to the vet if you want her to survive! she will die! if you don't

Yes, i have just noticed this. That is quite stange... i sent a message through Facebook to see if they could take her in.

And for that veterinary service, i will definitely bring the bird up to them if I don’t get an answer in the next few hours.

That looks like some weird kind sea bird of louse, which could be a symptom of a larger problem, or could be the cause of this bird's issues.
You can treat her with a vitamin supplement, too, that might help to perk her up.
