On a still air incubator you want the temp to be 102* at the top of the eggs. 99.5* if you are using a forced air incubator.

Either way, I candles some and can see some of the little guys growing pretty well. I'll be happy to have half the eggs hatch since they weren't super fresh.
But I'm almost more excited about seeing what little banty mixes hatch...since I can guess what the large brown eggs should be pretty well!

I know how you feel. I just left my bator which has been on lockdown for 2 days at home all alone in a locked up bedroom

I wont be able to check on them until I sneak out later tonight

I wont be home to hover over them until tomorrow after 4pm. LOL

I hope you have a great hatch. I have the same bator and also using it for the first time.

Yeah, it is definitely worrisome to leave and not be able to get back until late tonight, but I just try not to linger on it much.

I didn't use all super fresh eggs, so I know a good bit probably won't hatch. But thank you! I hope I can get some good banties and others out of this group. I've really been quite pleased with the incubator as well, so I really can't complain about its performance!

Ok, I need to get the chicks that have hatched out tonight. If I grab them out super fast, am I still liable to kill the ones not yet hatched?

Hopefully not...
