Anyways...

A large, furry mole scurried silently through leaves and other small litter on the cold, moist ground. His pale pink nose poked and prodded about him as he tried digging into the frozen dirt, searching for small insects and any other tasty morsels he could find to eat. He scuttled beneath a leaf pile for a few moments, then reappeared. He scratched with his tiny claws at a broken twig, and then moved on to scavenging around a small rock. The forest was completely silent and dark as a near fully-dwinked moon shined brightly overhead in the night sky, with billions of twinkling stars around it. It slightly illuminated the forest, though the mole was nocturnal, and it was blind anyways, so it did not need the moon's light to find his way around on the forest floor.
Although all was quiet, and there appeared to be nothing but trees surrounding it, the mole was unaware of another presence that was watching it with its large, black eyes and keen ears. It was fully tuned in to the very slightest rustle of a leaf from the mole, and the briefest glimpse through the thick leaves and debris on the ground. Tylisia sat very still; so still that she could have been mistaken as a statue. He claws tightly gripped the branch that she was perched upon, and her wings were folded neatly at he sides, yet ready for flight at the quickest moment. She knew exactly where the mole was, and she could sense its heart beat as it scurried, unaware of the deadly predator that stalked it.
Without a moment to waste, Tylisia leaped from the branch and glided downwards towards her prey. Her flight was completely silent and she grabbed the mole with her sharp talons within seconds, before it had time to scurry away to safety. She swooped upwards, with the killed mole held securely in her claws, and headed back to her nest hollow.
Upon arriving back at the hollow, Tylisia flew in through the entrance and brought the freshly-killed mole to Jay, whom was setting on the eggs while he healed after the near-death attack from the three Pure Ones. His wing, thanks to Nurse Natricia, was wrapped in an herbal healing paste and a thick gauge, made from leaves and stitched together by Nurse Nitricia. Jay cooed cheerfully to Tylisia when she entered the hollow. Tylisia cooed back and said, "Here, I just caught this mole. How is your wing?" She lifted the mole with her beak and started tearing off bits and pieces to give to Jay as he did his duty of sitting on the three precious eggs to keep them warm.
"Thank you. That's a very nice sized mole you caught there!" Jay said in appraisal, as he gratefully accepted the food that she gave to him. "And my wing is feeling much better now." He lifted it slightly to show her.
"That's wonderful. And how are the eggs?" Tylisia asked, tearing off another bit of the mole and handing it to Jay, whom swallowed it immediately, then cooed, "They are perfect, as usual. I made sure to rotate them an extra turn today, and I believe the first one here is definitely developing quite nicely and quickly. I can feel it." Jay smiled proudly as he stood up slightly and looked down at the eggs, which were clean and snug in the nest of downy feathers.
"Great. And as soon as you heal completely, you can take a break from the egg-sitting duty," Tylisia said. "Now, I need to take a trip to the center tree and see if anything is happening there. Good bye, and I will be back before first dawn!" Tylisia called as she stepped out the entrance, spread her wings, and lifted into the air as she soared to the center tree.

Good bye, and I will be back before first dawn!" Tylisia called as she stepped out the entrance, spread her wings, and lifted into the air as she soared to the center tree.

The limping Barn Owl looked up at her from the ground. "Hi."

Tylisia, as she was flying low to the ground, stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the little Barn Owl. She swerved and hovered above the ground for a moment, staring at the owlet in confusion.
"Hello there. What are you doing down here on the ground? Where are your parents?" She cooed.

The dusky, soft light of the sun as it sunk below the trees poured in through the small entrance to a dim tree hollow. Dust particles floated aimlessly and seemed to twinkle in the warm rays. The hollow was still and silent, with a peaceful air to it. But there was something much more exciting happening below the surface of a precious egg that was nestled safely in a nest of downy feathers.
One of the eggs, out of the three, wriggled ever so faintly. A tiny peck could be heard against the inside of the shell. Then another wiggle, and another peck that was barely audible. After a few more series of wiggles and pecks, a tiny dent in the smooth, white shell was created.
Over what seemed like a very long extended period of time, a zip was formed nearly all the way around the egg's surface. It wiggled madly, though the downy feathers helped keep it cushioned and protected. The tiny creature inside the egg screeched anxiously as it thrashed about in a frenzy, trying to finally escape from its imprisonment. Suddenly, with a faint crackle and a plop, a wet ball of feathers rolled out of the shell. The Barn Owl owlet screeched frantically as the cool air engulfed it, threatening to overcome it. But the downy feathers in the nest and the insulated tree hollow kept it warm enough before a pair of adult Barn Owls entered into the hollow and approached the newly-hatched owlet.
Tylisia's eyes alighted on her new owlet. She cooed happily as she nestled over beside the owlet, sliding the other two unhatched eggs beneath her. The owlet scuttled under Tylisia's warm belly and the frantic screeching eventually quieted as its need for warmth was satisfied.
Jay stood nearby the nest of downy feathers and watched contently, his expression full of joy and pride. He clucked gently to the exhausted owlet, which was nearly asleep beneath Tylisia's feathers, and said, "There, there little one. I will fly out and snatch up a delicious treat for you." Tylisia smiled and cooed contently as her new owlet dozed off to sleep and Jay flew back out the tree hollow's entrance.
