Königtum von die Eule

I know! It's so sad; I don't know where everyone went.

Tylisia perched on a sturdy branch, high up in a pine tree. She sat perfectly still, her posture relaxed yet her eyes wide and alert. Her head swiveled naturally to the slightest sounds; an owl screech in the distance, leaves silently rustling in a tree, or even the splashing sound of a tiny fish jumping up out of the water in a large pond nearby. The air was still and quiet, full of the scent of dried leaves as they fell from the trees and decayed on the ground. She glanced up at the sky; there was no bright azure to greet her eyes, nor a shining golden sun to warm her feathers. The sky was overcast and covered with thick, silvery clouds. Darkness was falling upon the silent forest, as the sense of end began to set in. This, she thought, Is the closing of a whole year...Soon winter would come. She sighed as a slight chilly breeze drifted passed her and an instinctual tingling feeling went through her...a feeling that told her to prepare for shorter amounts of sunlight and colder weather. It was time to migrate for most birds, but not her. Tylisia, like many other owls, could bear the long, gripping cold of winter, and she would stay in her kingdom throughout the winter. But that meant she had to be prepared. She had to find her own tree hollow. The lazy days of tree branches used as roosts were coming to an end. Her usual roosting branch would be of no protection to her during blizzards, nor would it keep her warm when temperatures dropped below zero degrees Fahrenheit.
And so, with one last glance around the darkening forest around her, she spread her wings and set off to find her new home for the winter in the kingdom.

Hawk stared near a lake while perching on a tree...I'm bored..." He thought, but he never that something awful was about to happen.

As Tylisia was flying around, she swooped down to the ground and caught a mouse. She swallowed it whole, then silently took off again into the night in search of her own tree hollow.
