Just like Tylisia did!

Tylisia ruffled her feathers and re-tucked her beak under wing as she stood in her cozy tree hollow, snuggled up beside Jay. Both of them were asleep, and though the air was freezing outside, their body heat and thick feathers locked in heat and they had plenty of warmth inside the sheltered hollow. A very thin layer of icy snow lay on the ground now, and the air was dry and chilly. The giant pond that was in the kingdom had begun to freeze over already, and any streams or rivers did the same. Though it was a very thin layer of ice, so the bald eagles that often visited the kingdom could still easily break through the ice and catch their fish.
Though she was asleep, in her little pocket of heat beneath the thick layer of feathers, Tylisia's ears could still pay full attention to any sounds around her. Like most owls, even when she was asleep, she wasn't truly asleep. She heard the far-off screech of a distressed long-eared owl, and her eyes flickered open immediately. She glanced around, then looked at Jay, whom was snuggled up against her for warmth. His eyes were open as well; large and bright, flashing in the moonlight and looking about in curiosity.
Tylisia hissed quietly, "Did you hear that?" Though she already knew the answer.
Jay hissed back, "Yes. It sounded like a long-eared owl is distressed. I wonder why..." Tylisia blinked, then silently walked over to the entrance of the hollow. She stuck her heart-shaped face out and peered around...Though it was completely dark, she could see perfectly fine, as if it were daytime. She stepped out and sat on the branch that was right outside of the hollow entrance.
"Good evening, Tylisia." A cheery voice hooted to her. She jumped in surprise, before realizing it was Nurse Netricia, the nurse snake at the hospital nest. She was curled up into a ball on a branch in a separate tree that was nearby, her old face smiling kindly.
"Oh, it's only you, Nurse Netricia." Tylisia giggled at herself for acting so jumpy.
"Yes, I didn't mean to startle you, dear." She chuckled.
Tylisia cooed, "Nurse Netricia, did you happen to hear a distressed owl screech just a moment ago?" Tylisia said wearily.
"Oh, don't worry about that, dear. It was only a little squabble between two young, male long-eared owls. Defending their territory, I heard." Nurse Netricia assured her.
"Ah, I see. I was just coming out here to investigate. Thank you, and good night." Tylisia said.
"Sleep well, dear." Nurse Netricia replied.

Tylisia stepped back into the hollow and went back to the spot where she had been sleeping. She explained to Jay what Nurse Netricia had said to her; he nodded and tucked his beak back into his feathers. Tylisia did the same, and once again the forest was silent. But not for long, because soon enough many of the owls would awake and take flight in the darkness for their night hunt. Soon, screeches and rustling leaves would replace the current silence in the air as prey scattered and hid from the deadly claws above.

You're back! With your very long posts...

Sabio hopped to the enterance of Sanga's hollow (where she had been moved,) and glided down to a nearby branch, a small tuff of down falling off of her back. "Sabio, don't leave the hollow! It's too cold out." Sanga called. Sabio came back up. Galing hopped around the nest, peeping loudly.

I saw that this thread had come back to life, and it gave me something to write because since it was dying before, I couldn't write anything...I had no inspirations. Now, I do.

Ahh...I need to make a joining thingy for Sanga's chicks.

(Thank you for bringing this thread back to life!)

Alwin hovered over the kingdom, searching for trouble. It was a very quiet day today, but rather than spending this quiet time foolishly, he used the time to think. A familiar face seemed to immediately appear in his head, the smiling blue eyes had a calming way about them. Thalassa... I have not seen her in a while, a long while; I hope she is well... He thought to himself, but hesitated to go out of his way to find her just to say, "Hello." He then continued to soar over the shadowed forest.

(You're welcome. I decided it was time to bring back a RP that isn't a clan.)

Sabio hopped down from Sanga's hollow, practicing branching. She was slightly sad, all of Sanga's chicks, although younger than her, were fully fledged. Why do I have to be a Barn Owl? She thought to herself. "Sabio! Time to get back in the hollow!" Sanga called, gliding to Sabio's branch. With Sanga's help, Sabio got up to the nest.

A tiny, delicate snowflake drifted silently on the slightest breeze, hovering unnoticeable above the trees. It rose higher, then was forced to drop down from a sudden gush of wind. It slowly made it's way through the bare tree tops, when finally it alighted on the smallest cream colored flight feather of a Barn Owl. Tylisia's head swiveled around and she gazed at the tiny flake. Before her large black eyes, the heat from her body almost immediately melted the delicate flake into nothingness. She then ruffled her feathers, stretched out her talons, and yawned after taking a quick nap. After a quick glance around, she unfolded her wings, leaped into the cold winter air, and flew silently away from the tree branch she had been resting on.
The trees flashed by her quickly and before long she landed softly at the entrance of her tree hollow nest. She looked about, then stepped inside, where a thick pile or leaves and downy feathers made up her nest. Inside the tree hollow, it was like a small pocket or warm, moist air. It smelled of feathers, and sweet pine tree wood. The wood was smooth and thick, and the perfect place for an owl to spend the winter. But the condition of her tree hollow wasn't very much of Tylisia's concern. Her attention was mostly directed toward the three small, white eggs that sat perfectly in the center of the tree hollow, tucked away safely in the nest of downy feathers. She gently shifted over to them and glanced down at them; they were nearly perfectly round, yet slightly oval in shape. Their outer shell surface was smooth and clean, and not a scratch or dent was visible. Tylisia, satisfied that her precious eggs were safe and sound, stepped over them and gently nudged them beneath her warm stomach. Like only a mother owl could, especially a Barn Owl such as herself, she could sense the tiny owlets developing slowly but surely inside the eggs. It had already been two weeks since they had been laid, and so about another two weeks or so remained until the first owlet was expected to hatch.
Tylisia used her beak to gently re-fluff the downy feathers in the nest around her, when suddenly Jay hopped in through the entrance. He screeched cheerfully in greeting, like they always did after returning to the nest from a hunt. He held a dead mouse in his talons and carried it over to where she sat on the eggs. He held the mouse down and expertly used his beak to tear off bits of it and feed it to Tylisia, like a mother owl would do for her young owlet. She accepted the food gratefully and ate every single piece he offered to her until the mouse was gone.
"Thank you." She cooed.
"You're welcome," Jay cooed back happily, then asked, "How are the eggs?"
"They are perfect." Tylisia smiled.
"That's great. Now I need to go help some other owls at the center tree on a hunting trip, and I will be back soon after nightfall." Jay said briskly before stepping over to the entrance.
"OK. I will take care of the eggs until then. See you when you get back!" Tylisia chirped.
"Good bye!" Jay hissed, then leaped out through the entrance and disappeared. Tylisia sighed contently and closed her eyes for a nap until Jay would return.

Tylisia awoke immediately from her nap and looked around. She stepped off her eggs for a moment and peered out of her tree hollow. When she saw Sabio, she smiled and cooed back, "Hello!"
