I knew he was a brand new breeder when I got the eggs Suede hatched from, so yep, guess he is only a bit over two. Suede will be two years old in January, can you believe it?

I hope they both stick around for a couple more years or whatever Orps live for!

Me, too, Robin. Suede is such a good boy, just like his daddy. He follows me around or if I call him from the other side of the property, he comes running to see what I have for him. Then that big old tank of a boy takes things from my fingers with such precision and gentleness, it amazes me. I've been blessed with wonderful roosters. Long live Blue Boy and Suede!

I second that. I just candled some eggs and I do have 3 heartbeats in the Blue Boy eggs. I need to trim his feathers. I think he may just have favorites too. That is why I am not selling eggs from him right now. That was three out of 12. Candled all the Blacks and all growing. I hope all the blues are pullets. I have a few blue cockerels growing off now.

I wish you would show me a picture of her. Charlie is growing well and i can't wait to put him over my blue pullets. Maybe he will mature fast and be ready in another few monthsl

Hey good news. I recandled tonite and I actually have 6 out of 12 with heartbeats. It doesn't pay to candle early. Hard not to sometimes. I should have some little Blue Boy offspring running around in two weeks if they hatch. About 10 white silkies and 12 Black Orps.
