Kalmbach Feed - Any Reviews?

I used the medicated chick starter from day one and didn't lose any . After they reached 18 weeks of age I switched them to layer feed as they recommended (last week)and they're already laying! I've gotten eggs 2 days in a row! I can say I am very pleased with their feed and will continue using it.I order mine from Chewy when I place my regular pet food order. My chickens are doing fabulous on this feed!

About a month ago I ordered Kalmbach Flock Maker from Chewy. FedEx delivers it right to my door (well, my gate). It is a bit more expensive than buying it at the feed store, but it doesn’t matter how much cheaper the store is if they never have it. Am I right? I use a 50# bag a week so I have an autoship for two bags of Flock Maker every two weeks. So far, so good! :fl

I have been ordering kalmbach flock maker pellets for my adults and crumble when I have chicks from chewy for almost a year now. I am extremely happy. My bags are clean, almost no dusty waste the food has been fresh (manufacture date 4 weeks or less). It is a few dollars more than tractor supply but when I look at the quality ingredients, I have noticed my birds eat less of it and savings gas on traveling store to store trying to find fresh feed it really ends up cheaper.

I feed Kalmbach grower or flock maker mixed in with Hen House Reserve. I am really impressed with their feed. I have very healthy big brahmas. I get so many compliments on our eggs. I also use Chicken E-lixer in water for the health benefits. Knock on wood I have yet to have a sick chicken (2 years) or lose a chick to anything other then fox and eagles 🤬

I feed kalmbach, my older girls have done really well on the omegga. My littles are finishing up their medicated starter and have done really well. I'm switching everyone to their grower until the littles start laying in novemberish and then I will go back to omegga. I think its great and everyone likes it. I order it from chewy since the closest agway is far.

I started with Scratch and Peck while mine were growing their starter/grower, and then switched to Kalmbach feed Henhouse Reserve, and have had great success with my ladies. Have a mix of Wel's/Marans and the egg shells are strong and yolks are a pretty dark color and they seemed to love it more than the scratch and peck feed. Also very little dust on the whole grain feed. (I've heard their pellets/crumbles aren't as dusty as others so that might be good as well). Also I order mine from Chewy 90LBs of feed every 3 or so weeks, and the packaging has been solid.

Ok I placed an order yesterday from chewy for my dog food and kalmbach feed and I just learned a big lesson I hit order now on my auto ship. Well just realized when I was tracking my package and realized the feed went up $10 a bag from 24.99 to 34.99. Looks like I’m on the search for a new feed now. Darn it I really loved this feed but that too much.

I had switched to Kalmbach All Flock, and because the rest of the Kalmbach feeds on the shelf said organic, thought the AF was too. Nope. Dumb me for not reading the bag. I want an organic feed, so I switched to the Kalmbach grower. It's more expensive, but I think it's worth it, so I'll pay the difference. I have hens, pullets, and a roo. I have egg shells and OS on the side for the laying hens.

It's at a small independent feed store, run by a family, so I don't mind paying the extra. I do not want to get on any autoship thing; FedEx/UPS won't be able to get back here in the winter.

I didn’t mind paying $4 dollars more a bag but now it’s almost $15 more than the going rate for feed in my area. I have checked the kalmbach website and the closest retailer to me is over an hour away.

Great post! I myself have been thinking about switching from Purina to Kalmbach for my birds when I move. I've fed Kalmbach to my rabbits before and really loved the results I was getting! Sadly when my friend got out of rabbits I had to find a new feed dealer and the closest dealer (about 2 hours away) refused to order the one I preferred so I had to put my rabbits on Purina. If I switch to Kalmbach I plan to order it through Chewy. Has anyone ever had difficulty during Christmas season receiving feed?
