Hi All,

I'm brand new here, and have been lurking, trying to absorb as much info. as possible--you guys are a great bunch!

Hubby says that I have to sell a bunch of my sheep, goats, and llamas in order to pay for a coop and some chickens--do you think that the Kankakee swap would be a good place to bring some animals?

I have some boer cross goats, a registered oberhasli doe in milk, a few barbados sheep, a yearling female llama, and a weanling male llama.

Any thoughts as to how these guys might sell at this swap? I'm much closer to Burlington, but I have an ulterior motive, as I'd love to bring home a couple of bucket calves, a coop, and some chickens if I could sell all that I bring.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hey Therese, do you have any young llama females that you are selling reasonabley? I have a small herd of alpacas and need a female to put with my girls. I am getting a little boy for free from some friends that we are swaping boy alpacas. We will still need to get a girl soon though. I dont want anything expensive or registered, just a nice friendly girl that wont spit on my hubby...lol Thanks, Jenn

Hi Jenn,

I have a really nice little yearling llama who I would part with for $200 if you're interested in her? She hasn't been handled a lot, but she has never offered to spit and lets you get fairly close to her in the field. She is a very feminine looking girl and is solid brown.

I worm my guys every 30 days, and they are up to date on CD and T.

If you're interested, just let me know and you're welcome to come and take a look at her sometime.

Oh, and I'd also trade for a couple of dairy type bucket bull calves if you happen to know of any?

Therese

I have only been to one, but do think it would be good, depends on your price though. $6 roosters and $10 pigletts went very fast last swap... $40 pigs and $12 roosters didn't appear to... This is solely based on my memory of the event.... There are lots of goats there, so being competitive would be key in my opinion.

fyi...I didn't see any calves there last time, maybe there will be this time....
