Hello I am learning about chooks (chickens ) bit by bit I thought I would know more being a farmers daughter but I don't. I had 3 Isa Browns and lost on who became egg bound. Now I am trying very hard to train the other two to roost. Their names are Henny Penny and Ducky Lucky. Chicken Licken was the one that died.
Henny Penny looked to be going the same way as chicken Licken and had a dirty bottom as well so I took her into my bath tub and with gloves on washed her using a hand held shower thing and body temperature water she was very good. I then squirted betadine on her bottom and vent and for the next week applied betadine ointment. I also thoroughly cleaned the nesting boxes ( I clean weekly anyway) and sprayed with gentian violet solution and let that dry before replacing the nesting materials.
It seems to have worked as she is alert and feeding and grazing but her comb is still drooping. I was sort of playing by ear as it was a long week end (Christmas actually) and the emergency vet was over 40 klms away, Have I done the right thing? does anyone else have ideas?
I use wood shavinds and shredded paper for nesting they love it but I'm wondering if thats a problem. I am allergic to straw come out in welts if I work with it I also think paper is cleaner and softer.

Sorry for your losses. It is never easy to lose them.

I have no idea what is going on in your flock. You might post this in our emergency section for more help and input on this...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

I hope you can get this all sorted out soon!
