I knew she was working on it last night because she was in the nest box and squatting. But it still took her awhile.
I have two nest boxes, and while Blanche always puts hers in the one by the wall, Buffy chose the second one.
CONGRATULATIONS, BUFFY!!! 🥚

That's good you don't want them all preferring the same box.

Way to go Buffy! Congratulations to you both! 🎉🎉 🥂🍾

So today I was gone on errands all afternoon, and when I got home at around 4:00, I went out to the coop and found THIS:

Aghh!! I freaked out! It’s a shell-less egg. It has the membrane around it, although as you can see, it broke, but no shell.
Can’t know who did it, either. I asked them, but of course, no one admitted to knowing anything about it.

In the beginning, the chickens are not in full gear, so some shell-less ones do happen. Try to feed back all the egg shells from your eggs, as well as those you may have from store. I also do have Oyster shells, free-choice. I have not seen a shell-less egg in many moons.
Many peeps, dry their shell, and some even bake them dry. I have only took them out to the hens, and stepped on them to make small pieces. NEVER PROCESSED THEM ANY. :pop
