My girls have a bowl of oyster shells always available to eat.In the beginning, the chickens are not in full gear, so some shell-less ones do happen. Try to feed back all the egg shells from your eggs, as well as those you may have from store. I also do have Oyster shells, free-choice. I have not seen a shell-less egg in many moons.
Many peeps, dry their shell, and some even bake them dry. I have only took them out to the hens, and stepped on them to make small pieces. NEVER PROCESSED THEM ANY.![]()
I usually give my egg shells to the dogs, but I am sure they won’t mind sharing.
