Just found MASSIVE canine tracks in my front yard. Obvious chase/hunt went down. Heard something the other night outside my room (where the tracks were) and didn't investigate. Bad, bad idea.
The tracks were literally double the size of my Husky's paw prints. A big, big animal. I'm thinking maybe wolf or escaped dog from the kennel down the street. Also found Raccoon tracks in front of the door to my coop and a skunk dug a hole INTO my coop. Hawk was circling above my run when I got out there, got chased off by a crow. My birds are being attacked from all sides.

I am so ready to throw in the towel and sell everyone right here right now. I have done EVERYTHING I possibly can to deter predators and all it's done is bring in more, larger, stronger, more determined predators who make my life even harder.

Have you invested in electric fencing and trenching around the coop and burying a wire skirt?

Have you invested in electric fencing and trenching around the coop and burying a wire skirt?

Electric fencing is well above my pay grade. Cannot dig a trench, ground is either always froze or full of large rocks/tree roots. I do not have a skirt because my dad is convinced that we don't need one, therefore we won't get one.
