Electric fencing is well above my pay grade. Cannot dig a trench, ground is either always froze or full of large rocks/tree roots. I do not have a skirt because my dad is convinced that we don't need one, therefore we won't get one.

If you can dig a trench to bury the wire the next best thing would be to put the wire right on the ground around the coop and use heavy pavers to keep it weighed down and let grass grow up through the wire.
Get some Nite Guards they’re great.

I totally get it. The literary term 'Irony' means the opposite of the expected outcome. Common use of 'irony' means an amusing coincidence.
