RIP my lovely blue and my beautiful Kooks, you were beautiful blue and cuckoo d'Anvers. Impasta eats eggs and no other blue are hatching because Luna needs to be taught a lesson in not eating eggs. Even the black ones have none the beauty or personality Noodle did. In fact, I believe the only chicken hatched from the best d'Anvers I could ever want is Jackson. The others died from diseases.

How does one even?
They fly into the rafters to roost and usually the buckets to catch the rain from the very leaky roof are beneath them, it's only a question of when they'll fall in.
Fortunately, all my d'Anvers are caged now. Better caged than dead, at least until the roof is fixed.

Ok... Tractors, mine are modeled after the salatin tractors but 8X8 and predator proofed for here. If you build one, make sure your vertical uprights are a half inch above the bottom. Otherwise it digs in when moving.

Backup Cockerels, My two back up boys from first hatch were in said tractor and the coon defeated the wire. Hence change in predator proofing.

Cy I'd wait another 5 days before tossing. I've had late bloomers develop after day 11. They do hatch later, but development is good.
