Hi Kayla!
That is actually a mouse and not a rat. Rats are huge - as big as your cat or bigger.
You could use mouse traps to help thin them out if they really are driving you that crazy.
Is it really that big of a deal, though? There are mice all over the place in my coops, it doesn't really matter a whole lot to me. My ducks love them - they snatch them up and eat them when they run past.
That’s a baby one I think. But I’m so happy to know that it’s mice and not rats. :ya

I would try mouse traps... but I have cats. Cats will just get stuck in those.

YES - it’s a big deal to me! I cannot stand those little creepy crawlies! :th

Yes, Kayla, that's a mouse not a rat! :ya
They don't bother me much, my brother and I actually like to search them out to feed to the ducks. :gigDucks surely do love them! ❤
You should try feeding some to your ducks. :)

Rats do not get anywhere near the size of a full grown cat.

We use mouse traps and my cat does not get stuck in them.

The water bucket trap is extremely effective. I did that by accident and caught 7 in 20 minutes.

Hopefully my 4 cats will avoid the traps. Because I’m going to Walmart to pick up traps tomorrow. Thanks Cy!
Kayla, do NOT get the glue traps. Please, oh please do not. Those are extremely inhumane. The mice get stuck to them and will chew off their own limbs to escape.

Get the spring loaded ones.
