Oh, that’s my angel... Pippin.. he’s a Ragdoll... talk about soft!

I'm not a cat hater, just not into them. Of course, if I visit with someone who has cats, i'm the first lap they plop into. A long long time ago, when I lived in Louisiana, took the dog in for her vet visit and left with a kitten for DW. A rescue had a litter and the vet was peddling them (free vet care, just take one home and even threw in a bag of feed).

Knowing absolutely nothing about cats, I trained him like a dog. I am certain he thought he was one. There wasn't a dog in the neighborhood he wouldn't take on and he would sit up, roll over, shake hands and do other things on command.

He traveled with us to Japan, back to Florida, then to Saudi, then to Virginia. He lived to be over 18 years old until cancer got the best of him. Until the day he passed, he ran all the animals in the house. He was definitely the boss. After he passed total chaos ensued. I got stuck with former SIL's cat who immediately destroyed several thousand dollars worth of electronics. And the girl we picked up in Saudi became an escape artist. She found a family down the street she liked better than us, so she moved in with them. SIL's cat came with us to TN. She passed last year.

So no dogs or cats at our place right now, unless you count the black one (cat) who shows up every now and again hunting for mice. She doesn't bother the chickens and is well groomed so I suspect she belongs to someone not too far away. She is not intrusive, doesn't bother the birds or us, so she's welcome to grab all the mice she can find.

Once my bantams get settled and all reach laying no age (soon, considering the reddening of combs) I’ll be getting quite a few eggs from them. I sell all the standard eggs ($2.00 a dozen), and I rarely eat eggs (not sure why, I just don’t eat them often), if they were yours how much would you sell a dozen bantam eggs for? Or would you just give them away for free?

Well Walmart sells organic eggs that aren't nearly as good as ours for $5.00 a dozen. I'm happy to take a dozen Walmart eggs and a dozen of my eggs to a prospective customer and let them see the difference and then offer eggs at $5.00 a dozen. I'll sell to my wholesale customers at $3.00 per dozen. My chickens go for $20 whole or $25 cutup. My turkeys are a whole different story.
