I cut my finger while mincing onions. It burned! Aaaand I had to redo the onions because they were contaminated with my blood.

I’m getting quail in the spring!
I’ll be getting 2 baby Coturnix quail chicks in March.


But here’s the deal...
I’ll be downsizing the flock AGAIN! Times aren’t the easiest at the moment and I feel like downsizing is needed I’ll be keeping 2 pullets, Maddie and Opal.
I’m sad to say- but Hallie and Cowboy will likely be culled
Why? Hallie’s leg and breastbone are really affecting her negatively Cowboy is acting sick, he’s an old boy. I HOPE I won’t have to, but you know....

So to summarize that ^^^
I’ll be downsizing to 2 chickens and purchasing 2 baby Coturnix quail in the spring.

So sorry about the cut and having to re-do the onions. That had to burn. I'm stuffed and still didn't get to some of the sides. Congrats on the quail, I want them but fear I'll never have them. They open a can of worms that I like keeping closed. BTW did I tell you that Todd was born in Alabama?

We cooked a 2 year old tom today. And he came out fork tender, juicy and delicious.
