Morning folks

Hopefully I can get pics of the new babies today. The RIW has given up and rejoined the other girls. Mom 2 seems to be caring for the new chicks and let them come out and eat by themselves last night. Mom 3 seems intent on still setting. The new chicks are welcome to crawl up under her or to hang out with Mom 2. What do you think Kayla, should I give mom 3 some more eggs? She was the last to join the broody bunch.

I don’t know. Is she sitting on a nest or trying to forage with the chicks?? If she’s not on a nest, then no. Personally, I’d break all broodies except mom #2

Mom 1 has returned and apparently moms 1 & 2 are caring for the chicks while mom 3 is devout about setting on the nest. Tries to take your finger off when you take her eggs.

I can’t make decisions for you... but I’d break all but one of the broodies.

Wouldn’t he let the mom that has taken the chicks out.. keep them..? And maybe break broody on nest? Or, is that what you meant ....

I'll see how they're acting this afternoon. I'm really on the fence right now. This whole broody thing is new, but it has extended the old girls' longevity.
