Good news is that the rest are doing AWESOME!
The Orpington finally broke of her broodiness, luckily Porsche (another silkie) went broody and has the 3 silkie eggs on day 7.
Also gotta get rid of a few drakes. Hmm. Egg production has been inconsistent.
Over 50 chickens and maybe 6-12 eggs a day.
Then again they are too young to lay for the most part. I’ll most likely be taking pictures of the chicks to see what you guys think are their genders.
Of course I don’t mind!@Grammy60 you'll want to stop by here later to see our candling results. Kayla, hope you don't mind the shout out but teaching navigation.
You sure do play musical eggs a lot! So that is what is happening to all the guinea keets!Good afternoon peeps!
A little update on things:
We are down to 13 keets. And Buckwheat was such a bad mom that Ellen (the silkie) is now tasing them all. Yikes.Good news is that the rest are doing AWESOME!

Non-hatch related poultry ramblings:
Still haven’t decided on which chicks are going. All I know is that the majority are being sold this Friday. I know, I know. Also gotta get rid of a few drakes. Hmm. Egg production has been inconsistent.

No thoughts, except they have very small air cell? That you can't see? They are white eggs, aren't they?Ok folks... I need some thoughts. Just candled my eggs. 112 show clean development with solid air cells. 76 are dark and show no air cell what so ever. None appear to be infertile. What's going on with the 76? None smell bad. All thoughts welcome...
white and can't see through them. Thinking a lot of stinkers growing but just don't know.No thoughts, except they have very small air cell? That you can't see? They are white eggs, aren't they?
I have candled my leghorn eggs in the past, but hatched under a co-operative Orpington. I guess you could do the float test. Bad eggs float from nasty gasses.white and can't see through them. Thinking a lot of stinkers growing but just don't know.
