Okay I found all these too (yes I am down the YouTube rabbit hole of dog trick videos) and I just have to say...

AH HA! I knew Aussies could tricks and just as well or better than Border Collies :p

The Border Collie vids were starting to make me think wow they're crazy smart I NEED one of those! But theres there's plenty of Aussie trick vids too once I actually typed in aussie tricks lol and now I am fully convinced. They can learn amazing tricks and agility too AND they're more fun :p

Aussies definitely are more slow and methodical about their tricks. I see a bunch still have their tails. Cool. Now I another Aussie. :lau

I know there's lots of Aussies in Missouri, and Michigan. I don't like traveling. I like to get home in the same day. You are more adventurous than I am.

I bookmarked that YouTube page to eyeball the Aussies later. :p

You are absolutely right! Didn't notice that at first. And they keep looking to their handler for clues. The BCs were like what's next what's next what's next!?!? LOL

And yessss I love the tails! They are gorgeous with them. I think maybe a lot of them are foreign so idk if docking is illegal over there or there are just more breeders who leave the tails or what but the tails are absolutely gorgeous :love:drool

Lol I see you've caught Aussie fever again :p

I suppose I should probably get a real job or a house first but I don't really see why I need a house when we have tons of land and places to exercise and train here and lots of people rent with dogs and live in tiny apartments but we have lots of room. Although I am trying to save which I guess is incompatible with buying a dog lol but I think I'm going to get more dog walking jobs (possibly sign up for Wag or start my own eventually) and pet sitting gigs. Eventually want to train too but that's a long way off cause I have a lot to read and do first

Starting phase one of being more responsible and less cruel and taking Gator for a walk. By less cruel I mean how I am constantly walking, training, and playing with Libby and talking about how badly I need a new puppy to train while ignoring Gator and leaving him to rot inside all day except to potty or maybe sit on the couch every night to watch TV with me. So we're going on a walk. Just to the mailbox since he can't walk as far now and he's somewhat reactive to other dogs but still. His eyes lit up when I said it and his ears practically flew forward. He was so excited.

There are breeders that will leave a tail on a pup if they are given a good deposit. You do need to get on a waiting list though. Some breeders also will inquire about your living situation.

When and if you get puppy you can teach it from the start not to fight for nail trims. Goofy Gator.

Hm, didn't realize that. Though they are cute without them too :D and hm, wonder what they'll think about what I have to say lol

Yeah, that's the plan! I also find flipping them over on their backs in my lap is much easier. Tried it with Libby the other day. Don't think it would work for Gator though. But he did let me clip two. We tried to handle his paws a lot but he never liked it, even as a puppy. My dad thinks it's cause coyotes go for the feet and he's half Pyrenees lol idk. He was making progress with positive reinforcement, treats or a walk if he let me, but then I started getting frustrated then mad when he growled which made him growl more and me more mad and escalated it till he was too aggressive to clip them. Never bit or anything but idk. I personally sometimes wonder if it wasn't just that I was afraid of him and it seemed worse than it was. And if me stopping when he was aggressive taught him that being aggressive got me to stop.... hmmmm.... probably. Well, no matter. Him letting me clip them got lots of GOOD BOY!!, love, and a big treat.

Yup. Next puppy is going to be taught to tolerate nail trimming lol

Also I think I found I dog training school I want to sign up for

I did FIVE today!!! :woot

Except I think I got a little too greedy/in a hurry to do more while he was letting me/see how many I could do while he was letting me and quicked him :( he barely reacted though. Except I couldn't find the damn quik stop powder anywhere (it was in the cabinet with the clippers and shampoos and supplements and stuff but now not. Idk if my mom moved it or what) so I had to use corn starch. Took a bit longer, spilled it on the floor, etc. But it worked once I packed it on thick enough.

I do think he's not feeling too well though cause in his younger days he never would have let me clip even one nail and last time I quicked him he cried and ran away and tracked blood all over the house LOL
