Dad finally picked up my prizes from family friend lol first place for something then overall first place out of all the eggs :D 2 ribbons, flowers, and 5 bucks. Dad didn't ask for the card cause he didn't realize there were comments on it and it was in the friend's name but we asked for a picture of it and might get it later. But I gotta get into vegetables next year! Apparently they both won big for their veggies and fairy gardens. I don't want to get into the fairy garden/scene thing because it's kind of their thing and he's really into it and has fun with it plus it's a lot of work but I have GOT to enter veggies next year. :p

Makes you wonder if she recognizes herself.

I was wondering that too or at least recognizes her handler. Supposedly they don't pass the mirror test according to someone in the comments but it sure seems like she recognizes herself to me and BCs are smarter than most dogs lol wonder if they tested any BCs. :p that or she's like "who's that dog running with my owner!?" Or she just loves agility and wants to run the course. Either way, adorable lol she probably can recognize the handler at least even if she doesn't necessarily realize it's her. Or she might.

I don't believe any of my dogs seem to recognize themselves either in a mirror. Often when held up to a mirror they look, but than they look away. If they look they prefer to look at stuff behind their reflection. I have never seen a dog admiring itself, nor barking at themselves, except for puppies so it's hard to understand if they understand a mirror or not.

Yeah, true. I feel like they probably don't and sometimes just think it's another dog. But I bet she at least recognized her handler even if she didn't recognize herself. They say dolphins, elephants, great apes can pass it

And some other animals I wouldn't have thought lol

But it does say it doesn't necessarily mean they can't recognize themselves

"Conclusion
If an animal can pass the mirror test, it’s certainly strong evidence of self-recognition, and indicates the possibility of self-awareness (i.e. a “sense of self”). However, it’s not definitive proof. And if an animal isn’t able to pass, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they do not possess these abilities.

For example, animals that rely on other senses more heavily than their vision may not take much interest in the sight of their reflections. Dogs, who recognize others mainly by their sense of smell, might quickly conclude that their mirror image is not of themselves or any other animal, because it lacks a corresponding scent. Furthermore, some animals may be able to recognize themselves in the mirror and see that they have been marked, but do not find the mark important enough to warrant touching or inspection."

I thought the list was interesting though.

Different animals see things differently than us, so you are right, some may just not "see" themselves. Good point.
