(ms bagawkbagawk... get some navy sand (you can get it at aquarium/pet stores usually) for the tarantula tank. it's the finest grain sand you can get. so, when you get up in the morning, you can see hundreds and hundreds of dimples in the sand from where she walks, and then she'll sleep during the day (once she's grown...) and by early evening, all the sand will sift itself flat again, because it's so fine... and you'll have all brand new dimples in the morning.
i've had 5 pet tarantulas...)

That's awesome! I use coconut fiber (I buy it in bricks) so she can tunnel. It's been so hot and dry that she just dug a tunnel system and sits there most of the time. I've been misting her tank every couple of days, but I think it is just the constant heat. She moved quite a bit today because it cooled down. I wanted to put some sand in when I first got her, but couldn't find much info on if it was safe, so I'll have to try it now. She is like the cheapest, most entertaining (for the price) pet ever! I buy her about 3 dozen crickets a month, so about 3 dollars. And she's so much fun to watch! Sorry I'm rambling, not a lot of other people have tarantulas :p...
